过去将来时

would + 动词原形：从过去的角度看将来

真实条件句

if + 一般现在时，主句 will + 动词原形

被动语态

was completed 是一般过去时的被动语态

间接引语

时态后退：will→would，can→could

in the country 是「在乡下」：不要理解成「在国内」；想说「在本国」一般用 in this country 或 at home。
if 从句里不能用 will：If she comes, she will get a surprise.（✓）／If she will come（✗）。
ago 与 before 的区别：five months ago 以「现在」为起点，与一般过去时连用；before 常与过去完成时连用，如 had begun before my sister left。
